Chemicals for Closing your Salt Water Pool

Hassle Free Closing Kit
1. Add Metal Free (Hassle Free Kit)
1 bottle/ 20k gallons Used for stain and scale prevention over the winter
Wait 4 hours or more
2. Add Shock: Choose one
Liquid Chlorine 1 gal/ 12,000 gallons
Oxy Out 1lb/ 10,000 gallons (if you have a good chlorine level)
Wait 24 hours
3. Add Pool Magic + Phos free (Hassle Free Kit)
1 bottle/ 25k gallons
Used to reduce organic build up and control phosphates during off season
Add right before covering your pool (this product can be added after pump is turned off)
Pro Tip: With Mesh Covers use 1 bottle of Pool Magic + Phos free/ 25k gallons each month this winter season to prevent a messy spring clean up! You can pour it right over your mesh cover!

1. Add Scale & Stain Control

Wait 4 hours
2. Add Shock: Choose one
Refresh Shock 1lb/ 10,000 gallons
Liquid Chlorine 1 gal/ 12,000 gallons
Oxy Out 1lb/ 10,000 gallons (if you have a good chlorine level)
Wait 24 hours
3. Add an Algaecide: Choose One
Formula 500 1 bottle/ 10,000 gallons
Formula 6000 1 bottle/ 20,000 gallons
SeaKlear 90 day copper based algaecide 1 bottle/ 20,000 gallons (recommended with frog system)
Wait 4 or more hours
Pool Magic + Phos Free:
Phosphate & Organics control A great chemical to use with Mesh Covers
Add one bottle/ 25,000 gallons right before covering the pool
Pristine Blue Closing Chemicals
Always Balance your Water Chemistry before adding closing chemicals
Total Alkalinity: 50 to 90 ppm
pH: 7.2 to 7.6
Calcium Hardness: 100 to 400 ppm
You DO NOT need to add Pristine Blue if your copper level is at .3 ppm OR above

1 gallon Liquid Chlorine OR 1 pound of Pristine Extra (stabilized chlorine) per 10,000 gallons of pool water.
You may also use 1lb Oxy Out Shock OR 1lb Pristine Power/ 10,000 gal- if you have a good chlorine level already in the pool
Wait 24 hours
3. Add Pool Magic + Phos Free
1L / 25,000 gallons
